California has banned all sales of Halogen lamps. So I can't find the cheap $20 lamps anywhere. Can someone suggest a floor lamp that will give off just as much or more light than the Halogen lamp? The floor lamps I've found so far don't light up the

Tempe firefighters' dramatic efforts fail to save man on fire

The firefighter had not yet donned his gloves or helmet because he needed the dexterity of bare hands to pull the hose out of the compartments on the front of the truck. Lamp said normal procedure is to take the hose out first and then put on gloves and a helmet after the hose has been charged.

Lamp made a split-second decision to attempt to rescue the man, who was engulfed in flames, and pull him out of the blazing doorway.

"I just stopped what I was doing, and myself and the second firefighter went down and tried to drag him out," Lamp said.

The 63-year-old man reached up for help and Lamp pulled him as far away from the apartment as he could until the other firefighters extinguished the flames on him.

"What goes through your head is, 'What can we do? What's the fastest way to get out?'" Lamp said. "It's pretty bad when somebody is on fire and the person is in pretty bad shape, so you just try to pull him out and try to put the fire out."
