i have an antique clothes press made by general motors, can anyone tell me more?
this clothes press/iron has a roll of white linen and is in a metal cabinet with drop leaf work table has different settings for cotton,just like an iron,it was in an old house that we bought and is in great shape whatever it is!!
Check with a reliable antique dealer, or there are antique books you can buy. Sounds really neat, good luck on finding info, on it,, I too collect antiques.

The free-standing round kerosene heater became common. Besides heating a room, the heater most often had a grill stamped into the top, so it could also heat coffee, lunch, or whatever you wished. Well, almost anything.
In summer the kitchen got very hot, but to iron clothes required the wood kitchen stove to be heated. Before electric power there were no fans, no A/C, and no air in the kitchen.
