Do Non Nikon filters really interfere with auto focus on the D40?
I have a Nikon D40 & am searching for filters... the manual says that filters not made by Nikon may interfere with autofocus or electronic range finding. Is this true or just trying to get people to purchase Nikon product?
Nikon as of recent doesn't make linear polarizers and filters based on linear polarization. Such filters if used can interfere with auto-focus because of the way they work.
