How to make a cheap archery target?
I've searched the internet and cant find any cheap ways to make a homemade archery target i am a begginer and want to practice.
My bow is a compound bow with a draw wieght 30-45 pounds Plz help.
You could use the Shrink-Wrap Poly film that is discarded from pallets. You need to get a lot of it and compress it down and then put that into a burlap bag large enough to serve as a target. Other packing material that would work is foam sheets folded
Archers compete for shooter of the year
NEWBERRY – In front of 24 targets, a crowd formed. There was a breeze that Sunday, but for this particular crowd, the breeze was an obstacle.
“Welcome to the wind tunnel,” archery coach Robert Turner joked as he welcomed the competing archers. He explained the rules of the tournament, and a shrill buzz signaled the first of 12 rounds.
Wyatt Todd stood at the edge of the cement, plucked an arrow from his quiver and placed it on the bow. He pulled back a string and sent an arrow flying through the air. The only problem was the wind.
The eight-year-old archer said that the hardest part of the sport is “whenever it’s really windy like today, and you keep missing.”
Wyatt scored 477 points at Sunday’s first Shooter of the Year event at Easton-Newberry Sports Complex. The tournament is made up of six different target events throughout the year. According to Kim Oliver, an administrative head of the Newberry Junior Olympic Archery Development Team, it’s the first year they hosted the Shooter of the Year tournament.
